Official photographer for many events and specialized magazines in Switzerland and abroad, his work has been touring the world for 45 years.

Joseph Carlucci, born on January 28, 1956 in Nociglia, Italy, moved to Lausanne ten years later to attend compulsory school. Interested in music from a very young age, he went to his first real concert in Bern at the age of 18 and it was love at first sight!

Joseph then started to immortalize artists on stage out of passion, then his talent and his sympathy naturally opened the doors of the backstage; his privileged relationship with the musicians allowed him to take unique pictures, full of history and emotion.

Official photographer for many events and specialized magazines in Switzerland and abroad, his work has been touring the world for 45 years. From AC/DC to ZZ Top, Nirvana, BB
King, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen or Elton John, to name but a few, the greatest artists have passed in front of his lens, whether in stadiums, festivals or concert halls throughout Switzerland and abroad.

Joseph Carlucci is also called upon to collaborate via record companies for many artists to illustrate album covers (cover of the 45 t. Danger of AC/DC, Deluxe Boxes remastered of Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets of Metallica for their 30th anniversary) or DVDs (Live at Montreux of Alice Cooper, Status Quo, Santana, Alanis Morissette, Deep Purple, ...).

The story begins in Joseph Carlucci's Lausanne merchandising store called Photo Live Concert, then Rock Store, located in the stairs of the Ruelle du Grand-Pont next to the Sapri Shop. One could buy there all the paraphernalia of the true hard rock fans. A cult place for the teenagers of the time and music lovers!

In 1986, an unusual customer walked through the door of the store. After observing with great attention all the pictures of artists displayed, he scribbles on a record cover these few words heavy with meaning:

Hey Joseph, Where's my fucking picture then ?

A dedication signed by David Bowie. The artist will visit him regularly and will invite him to photograph him in concert. Joseph has hundreds of memories to tell, but this one is probably the most moving; it naturally deserved its place on the cover of the book retracing his 45 years of career!

The selection of the pictures was long, painful, and the choices were difficult because his "hunting list" is so impressive. The self-taught photographer has therefore focused on his first love, rock.

The publication includes 276 pages in the format of an LP album with nearly 300 shots, testimonials from artists and professionals in the industry.

The photos are complemented by some nice anecdotes from Joseph collected by journalist and writer Jean-Pierre Sabouret. A chapter is also dedicated to the Swiss bands with a little wink to the French-speaking musicians friends.

After more than fifteen months without a concert, and therefore without work, being able to publish this book is an opportunity for Joseph to continue doing what he loves to do; telling stories through his photos and sharing his unconditional passion for music.
