Candy Apple Boost

ALH Effects is proud to present its new effect for the year 2023. The Candy Apple Boost is not a boost like the others. It is a Pickup Booster. This creation is dedicated to guitar pickups and guitarists who want to sculpt their sound with precision.

Inspired by the EMG systems of the 80's, the Candy Apple Boost, placed at the beginning of the chain, allows you to perfect the sound of your guitar and bring it to another dimension. The pedal features three controls: Boost, Presence and Expander. First of all, it is important to note that with all three controls set to zero, the pedal does not color the sound of your guitar. It is only when you turn up one of the controls that it becomes active. The Presence setting raises your signal in the 600Hz range, giving your guitar a fuller, more impactful sound. It's ideal for those who want to add power to their single pickups. The expander offers toexpand the sound of your instrument. By boosting the low and high frequencies, it gives humbucking guitars the same sonic range as a single coil without compromising on power. Finally, the Boost control offers to add up to 20dB to your signal, enough to rough up your amp or fuzz.
Even if it is dedicated to guitar pickups, the Candy Apple Boost can bring many benefits. It is a real equalizer that can bring medium to a pedal that is too deep (like the big muff), or widen the sound of a too focused effect (like the tube screamer). It can also be placed at the end of the pedalboard or in the loop of the amp to adjust the overall sound and boost it on certain passages. In short, its uses are so numerous that its only limit is your creativity!

The Candy Apple Boost is a true-bypass pedal that works with a 9vDC power supply (negative center) for a 20mA consumption. It is handmade by us in our workshop in Nantes. Feel free to contact us through the contact form for any questions.
