About Retro tone

Hi, I'm Jean-Pierre Richepin, the Retro Tone man.
I've been a musician and guitarist since 1979.
I was rocked by the sound of rock from a very young age.
My first concert was with RAMONES in 1981 when I was 16 years old. I was lucky enough to see a lot of concerts at that time, and that organic sound is still present in my head.
I then started my career as a musician on the Bordeaux scene in the early 80's.
The first effects pedals that we bought at that time were BIGMUFFs, DODs and RATs.
I remember my first rehearsal room in 1982, a cellar in Bordeaux that had been flooded. My freshly acquired dod 250 was soaking in it ! My mother's hair dryer brought it back to life.
We knew how to do solid things back then! In parallel of a formation of luthier in 1998.
Which took me in 2009 to work in a store of music as luthier repairer and salesman. I started to be interested in electronics at this time in 2010.
I started to build my first pedals in 2011, and very quickly, I became interested in vintage effects. Not being able to afford to buy them because of the exorbitant price on the internet, I decided to reproduce them. I quickly understood the importance of the components found on these old machines, the key to the sound on these clones is to choose carefully the components, if you try to have a vintage sound with inappropriate components it does not work well! LET THERE BE ROCK !
