Bassiste Magazine numéro 93

Summer is already in full swing as we wrap up this new issue. The resumption of gigs has put smiles on everyone's face and it is with a positive spirit that we put the finishing touches on this 93rd Bassist Magazine. We dedicate our cover to the incredible Tal Wilkenfeld, little queen of the sidewomen (Jeff Beck, Toto, Prince, Keith Urban, Herbie Hancock) who turns out to be an accomplished artist, a monstrous bass player, but also a songwriter and singer. Every self-respecting music fan should own her albums Transformation and Love Remains. Tal is a true nugget and we are very proud to celebrate her incredible journey with her. Join her in the studio and meet Sam Kiszka (Greta Van Fleet), Jean-Jacques Burnel (The Stranglers), Hugo Cechosz (Vianney), Gaby Vegh (Gnô, Elefant Talk) and Sylvin Marc, as well as our gear sections. Besides, you will find in the pedagogical part of this issue a small summer program which has been concocted by the excellent Bruno Ramos. Taking the concept of the vacation notebook (in the second degree, of course), Bruno has elaborated a real work routine over four weeks, which will allow you to take advantage of the summer to gently bring yourself up to speed, without forcing you, and above all while having fun, with a whole host of really nice concepts and tips, technique, repertoire, a bit of theory and playlists to listen to good sound while relaxing. Of course, this booklet is accompanied by a video that you will find on our channel, with the execution of the different exercises, in-depth explanations, interaction, the different backing tracks, in short... everything you need to attack the new season in shape and well sharpened.
