The consequences of the epidemic are still being felt: between the difficulties linked to the application of the health pass in concert venues and the attendance of cultural venues which is rather bad (apart from a few major open-air events which cannot represent a whole sector which is really in danger), one has the impression that the nightmare does not end. The market has shifted to online, the prices too. It is difficult for stores or schools to see the future in a serene way. It would be good if we could continue to frequent these places, if we don't want to see them disappear once the indifference will have done its work of undermining, the bulk of the pandemic passed. We wanted to pay tribute to Dusty Hill in this issue, just to remind the essential role of the bass player in the success of this band, even though it is stamped "guitar"...

The consequences of the epidemic are still being felt: between the difficulties linked to the application of the health pass in concert venues and the attendance of cultural venues which is rather bad (apart from a few major open-air events which cannot represent a whole sector which is really in danger), it seems that the nightmare is not over. The market has shifted to online, the prices too. It is difficult for stores or schools to see the future in a serene way. It would be good if we could continue to frequent these places, if we don't want to see them disappear once the indifference will have done its work of undermining, the bulk of the pandemic passed. We wanted to pay tribute to Dusty Hill in this issue, to remind us of the essential role of the bassist in the success of this band, even though it is stamped "guitar". Francis Rocco Prestia of Tower of Power also has the honors of our columns, in a much more lively style, but it's Lee Sklar who got the cover of your favorite magazine. The bassist has recorded so much, that it is more likely that a random human being on Earth has heard him once than knows where to locate New York on a map.
The fall season has brought us a lot of new stuff and we were pleased to see that the gear is getting lighter: it is the bass' turn to be on a diet, with two successful attempts by Sandberg and Markbass, who play the card of unusual essences. Of course, your favorite sections are still in place, with an emphasis on pedagogy, enough to make you want to do your finger muscles with a smile, because our teachers are not only beautiful and talented, they are also excessively friendly and for some, bearded. While we wait for Santa's to show up, we still have some time to enjoy the artists in this issue. If you don't want to miss the next ones, there is only one solution: subscribe! Moreover, our back issues are still available for sale, online or by mail order, ideal to find the lessons of Bruno Ramos or François C. Delacoudre that you might have missed or the Bass Story that you might be missing from your collection.
In the meantime, if the current atmosphere is still weighing on you, just shout: the beard! And spend more time with your favorite 4-string.
