Times are changing... There was a time when playing a musical instrument was an excuse to form a band and stay up late. The creation of a band allowed to live an extraordinary human and creative adventure and to feel the indescribable thrill of the stage experience. But that was before! At the time of the withdrawal accelerated by the pandemic that we cross, the artists opted for other modes of creation. For the worst and for the best... The ultra sophisticated pop of an artist like Billie Eilish is the proof that you can still make things happen with a simple master keyboard connected to a laptop from your bedroom. This is not surprising for all the young musicians who have been fed up with the YouTube era, for whom a career is no longer shaped on open stages, but on social networks. Many drummers have used these platforms to spread their art and make a name for themselves at a time when live music is going through its deepest slumber, like Arthur Dubois or Montreal's Domino Santantonio, both interviewed in this issue. You will also find the story of our meeting with Mario Duplantier, on the occasion of the release of the new Gojira and the 25th anniversary of the band, our tribute to the legendary Jimmy Cobb, the confessions of Ricky Lewis (The Weeknd) the day after the mega show of the Super Bowl, without forgetting our gear tests (heavy stuff on the menu!) and our usual pedagogical sections...
Enjoy your reading and thank you again for your numerous messages of encouragement in this very special period!
