The summer took place in a strange schizophrenic climate, with the return to (almost) "normal" life, social tensions around the health pass, the European soccer cup, human absurdity and the resumption of concerts and festivals... We hope with all our heart that many of you had the opportunity to recharge the "batteries", perhaps by devouring on the beach our number 182, whose file "The 30 best drummers of the XXIst century" gave rise to some animated dialogues (we love that!). As for us, the summer break was short-lived. After putting the finishing touches on this issue, the news came out: Joey Jordison has left the world of the living...

After putting the finishing touches on this issue, the news came out: Joey Jordison has left the world of the living. This is a shocking piece of breaking news for us who have been following the ex-Slipknot since the birth of Batterie Mag in 2004 (Joey was on the cover of our issue 002!). Like many, we have witnessed his rise to heights that few drummers have reached, before approaching him in less glorious contexts... Clearly, part of our team grew up with Joey and his passing at the age of 46 is a blow. Instead of putting the computer away, we rushed to review our summary. Together, we went back into the Iowa Kid's work and our archives to try to pay tribute to him in the best way possible. Bad news never comes alone, we learned with great sadness the death of Hans J. Kullock at the age of 73. Bassist and founder of the CMCN, which became the Music Academy International de Nancy, Hans was a pillar of the teaching world with whom we collaborated for many years. All our thoughts go to his family and friends. We dedicate this issue #183 to them. We wish you all the best for the new school year.
