In the age of social networks, where careers are made in one day and shattered the next, personalities from the artistic, sports or political world have never turned their tongue so much in their mouth before expressing themselves. If we can hardly blame some of them for keeping a certain reserve and practicing the language of wood, this context has led to profound changes in the relationship between media and artists.

In the age of social networks, where careers are made in one day and shattered the next, personalities from the artistic, sports or political world have never turned their tongue so much in their mouth before expressing themselves. If one can hardly reproach some of them for keeping a certain reserve and practicing the language of wood, this context has led to profound upheavals in the relationship between media and artists. Fortunately, in the vast majority of cases, we manage to maintain a close relationship with a good number of musicians, but it is more and more frequent that our interview requests are subject to filters. Some managers now find out in advance what issues are going to be discussed and in the case of "big" artists, press agents sometimes attend the interview, ready to jump in front of an embarrassing question. As for the request to proofread articles before publication (a common practice in politics), it is still rare in the music world,
but is gaining ground.
The interview Eric Moore gave us embodies the antithesis of this phenomenon. Armed with unfailing confidence, the American drummer, totally in tune with his image, delivered a masterclass of honesty, not hesitating to tackle such sensitive topics as money, racial discrimination, and to talk about himself (not without humor) in the third person, to express how much he shines in his art (Dave Lombardo should know better). Eric Moore says it himself, he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone, so he speaks without a filter and it feels good! We are happy to dedicate our cover to him for the first time. Also in this issue, Jas Kayser and Clay Aeschliman, two darlings of tomorrow's drumming, one of them a jazz rising star, the other a metal figure.
New year means new things, and in this first issue of the mag #2023, some new sections appear. In ASSEZ/DÉÇU, Nicolas Muller (from the YouTube channel FrenchGripChannel) will come back with humor on the flops of the drum world. In NOTA BATT, clinician Christian Grassart will reveal his tips and tricks to improve your daily drumming life. As for the "Business" column by Francis Seriau (creator of the Tech School in London), it will give you the keys to approach your career with the vision of an entrepreneur.
To those of you who were here in 2022, thank you so much for reading us for another year! To those who are new to us, welcome to the family!
Happy New Year to all!
