You never really know what your future holds, you bet on one horse and the other comes out on top. That's what happened to Rodrigo and Gabriela, metal fans and electric guitarists, who ended up being the standard-bearers of an acoustic movement combining rock sensibility, pop culture and metal technique.

You never really know what your future holds, you bet on one horse and the other comes out on top. That's what happened to Rodrigo and Gabriela, metal fans and electric guitarists, who ended up as the standard-bearers of an acoustic movement combining rock sensibility, pop culture and metal technique. In the same way, Graham Nash could have been content to ride the wave of success in England before seeing the Virgin while harmonizing vocals in Joni Mitchell's living room, which led him to drop everything and found Crosby, Stills and Nash with the success they're known for. It makes you wonder whether it's necessary to make plans at all, only to have life trample them underfoot at the slightest opportunity. That said, what all these thwarted yet successful destinies have in common is that, in addition to having made plans, the musicians involved were actually doing things. Yes, if our two Mexican friends had just waited for things to happen, or if they'd stuck to their guns, or if Jimmy Page hadn't experimented, or if he hadn't taken the job that came his way as a session man, or if the luthiers who populate our test pages hadn't decided one day to build a guitar, imperfect as it may be, none of these artists would have found even the beginnings of success.
So, even if it's urgent to wait, perhaps it's even more urgent not to go round in circles, but to get down to the nitty-gritty and, above all, to do whatever it takes. You know the saying: the bottle makes the drink.
In this new issue, we bring you plenty to try out, especially in our pedagogical pages: choose a style, browse from one page to the next, let yourself be inspired by the pieces selected by our pedagogues. Discover the artists in our reviews and take the time to listen to an entire album: after all, it's summer, so we've got a bit more time to try and enjoy the present.
Ah, we've also put together some really cool subscription offers that we
recommend you take a look at. Have a great summer!
