The Yellow Vests crisis, the pandemic, the war, the climate that is going to hell, the nuclear threat of Uncle Vlad, the spectre of energy shortages announced this summer that are starting to become very real... The Yellow Vests crisis, the pandemic, the war, the climate that is going to hell, the nuclear threat of Uncle Vlad, the spectre of energy shortages announced this summer that are starting to become very real... What's next ? A few hours before writing this editorial, I was walking in the south of Paris looking for a gas pump that was still supplied, like thousands of you. In the queue, after having managed to find the precious sesame, feeling all this tension and anxiety, I told myself that even if we approach this global situation by considering the glass half full, we still live in a rather ugly and annoying time. As I was ruminating, I was reading my email and came across a message from Megadeth's press agent entitled "MEGADETH = MEGACHARTS!!! Their new album is getting rave reviews around the world and in France!" I thought back to The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!", the band's 16th and sublime album that I've been greedily bleeding since this summer, wondering about this rather unexpected success. I then realized that despite his long career, the years that count double and the illness, Dave Mustaine has remained a committed and angry artist, a decoder of the human condition and somehow a prophet. His work resonates with us because it is in tune with our times and our lives. His fateful message is carried by his snarling and fragile voice, propelled by the power of the guitars, aggressive and angular, which fly away in tearing solos, thrash version of the seven trumpets of the Apocalypse. Megadeth definitely deserved our cover. Have a good reading!
