You have been numerous to show us your friendship these last months, as well as your attachment to Guitare Xtreme Magazine. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your favorite magazine deserted the newsstands since the first containment and we owe you some explanations. The reason: the coronavirus and the health crisis, on the one hand, and on the other hand, the fall of the giant Presstalis, national distribution company of the French press, which was placed in judicial liquidation at the same time. Since the creation of the magazine in 2004, we had always overcome all the ordeals with pugnacity, but this time, between the difficulties of distribution and the closing of the points of sale, without speaking about the services of the Post office which turned in slow motion, we preferred to put us in standby, but certainly not in sleep...

Guitare Xtreme is back and is now a monthly magazine ! Dear guitar xtremists,
You have been numerous to show us your friendship these last months, as well as your attachment to Guitare Xtreme Magazine. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your favorite magazine has deserted the newsstands since the first containment and we owe you some explanations. The reason: the coronavirus and the health crisis, on the one hand, and on the other hand, the fall of the giant Presstalis, national distribution company of the French press, which was placed in judicial liquidation at the same time. Since the creation of the magazine in 2004, we had always overcome all the trials with pugnacity, but this time, between the distribution difficulties and the closure of the points of sale, not to mention the slowdown of the Post Office services, we preferred to put ourselves on standby, but certainly not in sleep. We took advantage of this period to reflect on the future and to consider the different perspectives available to us. Finally, after much reflection, the publishing company B.G.O (which also publishes Batterie Magazine, Bassiste Magazine and Guitare Sèche Le Mag) was bought by its employees. This acquisition allowed us to prepare our return to business. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your encouragement and your generosity. The money collected thanks to the Leetchi kitty has been a precious help to us. So here you are with the issue of this rebirth in your hands. First changes: a square back, a better quality paper and a new more compact format, in short, a more beautiful and qualitative magazine. Other good news: we took advantage of this reorganization to fulfill one of your recurrent requests these last years: Guitare Xtreme becomes a monthly magazine (no, no, you're not dreaming). For those who prefer to enjoy the magazine in digital format, our digital offer has been completely overhauled, with a dedicated reading tool that is much more efficient, and above all, much more advantageous prices. More good news will be coming in the months to come and we're super excited to have you back.
For this cover issue, we pay tribute to Eddie Van Halen in our own way, with an exclusive interview with Andrew Bennett, photographer and author of the book Eruption in the Canyon: 212 Days and Nights with the Genius of Eddie Van Halen, who had the privilege of living in Eddie's home for almost a year and is not short on anecdotes. Have a good read, good shred'n'roll !!!
