Seamark Reverb MK2 | Fully Analog True Spring Reverb Unit
Réf. 6Made by : Lateral Phonics
The Seamark Reverb is a fully analog, true spring reverb unit, designed to produce the authentic, non-linear response of real springs. Every your action resonates, reflecting the springs’ dynamic interaction with your playing. This pedal offers warmth of classic surf-style reverb, combined with darker, more noisy experimental tones.
Compact Size:
The Seamark is the most compact true spring reverb units available, measuring just 143x95x45 mm. Its design includes a specially balancing suspension, securing the spring block for optimal performance and stability.
Concept:
We’ve taken the classic surf-inspired spring reverb and turned it inside out, transforming sunny beach tones into a dark, stormy atmosphere with noir shades and a metallic edge. This tonal shift is evident in the sound as well, with added controls for deep saturation, enabling rich, experimental textures. Certain settings also introduce a graininess effect, lending a darker, noisy and atmospheric background to the reverb.
Seamark has four controls and one knob:
1. Level – overall volume of output signal
2. Amount or Saturation – difference between a clean signal and a reverb Depending on position of Impact knob, it is also can be a Saturation regulator knob
3. Impact – value of signal applied to input of spring coil
4. Tone – cut off high frequencies of processed reverb signal
5. Splash button – sets value of Impact knob to maximumm
Modes:
Using only these 4 controls (no additional toggle switches) and various combinations of their settings, Seamark is able to create two modes of operation: Classic and Graininess modes.
1. In Classic mode pedal produces a clean classic spring reverb, without unnecessary distortion, saturation and noise. From surf style reverb to ambient surrounding background sound.
2. In Graininess mode it can distort and saturate final mix, create feedback with reverb input or output coil, and swing the springs. From background noise to experimental sounds.
NOTE: all Graininess modes has a graininess effect (noise) in some settings, this can give your sound a darker atmosphere and noir tone.
This makes the Seamark Reverb versatile. From experimental textures and noises to ambient swells and classic clean reverb.
Distinctive oscillation control:
The SPLASH button increases the saturation at the reverb input coil, causing additional spring oscillations and overdrive the final stage of the circuit. This final stage is enhanced by a JFET preamp, which adds warmth, additional harmonics during saturation and finaly glues the wet/dry mix together. By striking the pedal with a strong kick and while pressing the SPLASH button, you can achieve a unique bell-like tone.
Key improvements for the MK2 version:
1. Enhanced Splash Functionality: In the MK2, the Splash button has been fine-tuned giving players more control over momentary bursts of reverb saturation for live performance creativity. Now the button has two modes of operation: by pressing and classic (like a regular button). Also, an indication of the pressed button was added, now the Seamark lights up brighter when pressed.
2. Compact Design Adjustments: While both versions are known for their compact size, the MK2 is even more pedalboard-friendly, all I/O jacks and power have been moved to the top.
3. Improved Circuitry: The core analogue circuitry in the MK2 remains the same, but to provide cleaner signal paths and quieter operation, the pedal's power supply filtering has been improved.
This pedal design with high quality audio component to produce the best sound with a real pure tone, has a momentary soft-touch true bypass with 2 modes(Classic and Hold) and hand painted art.
Currently produced in Caen, France.
