Marrakesh Drive Console | MK2

The Marrakesh Drive Console MK2 captures the essence of vintage studio equipment, reminiscent of legendary consoles, which defined the sound of different recordings. It is inspired by vintage API style microphone preamps from the 1970s, enhanced with a high-end 2-band EQ and adapted for Line/Instrument inputs with high Z. This versatile pedal offers ultra-low noise and plays multiple roles, with a warm and organic tone that includes soft clean compression and the feel of a classic studio desk. All this makes the pedal capable of working as a console analog preamp, overdrive, fuzz, boost, colour box or toneshaper and is ideal for a variety of musical instruments.

Internal filling:
The Marrakesh Drive Console features discrete operational amplifiers (DOA-990s) designed by Dean Jensen, known for their unique tone and balance. These DOAs provide superior audio performance and harmonic richness under overdrive. The 2-band EQ section, driven by high quality extra op-amp, allows fine-tuning of low and high frequencies while preserving the integrity of the midrange, with transparent, wide-range control filters for studio-grade tone shaping.

Scheme features:
API preamp-based circuitry adds a rich character and unique coloration without slowing down fast transients. This keeps the sound open in the highs and lows while retaining focus and presence in the midrange. Our custom modification with DOA-990 also preserves the transients and maintains a big, open sound, while adding extra punch and fullness. 

Extra clipping & Overdrive tones (Saturation Switch):
Beyond its studio-grade preamp features, the Marrakesh Drive Console MK2 shines as an overdrive pedal, delivering clean, transparent overdrive, more saturated, harmonic-laden distortion and even console type fuzz. Its Saturation switch lets you toggle between soft and hard additional saturations. At hard mode, the pedal offers stronger harmonic distortion with more compression, creating a rich overdrive ideal for adding character without overwhelming your tone. At soft mode, it provides greater clarity and less compression, ideal for a transparent overdrive that retains the nuances of your playing. Additional saturation modes are achieved by adding different clippings to the feedback loop, this way you can get different overdrive tones like Centaur, KoT, BB and etc

Adjustable voltage & Switchable headroom (Headroom Switch):
The Headroom switch on the pedal is a crucial feature that offers two distinct voltage settings 9V and 28V allowing you to control the dynamics and tonal characteristics of the pedal. High Headroom(28V) provides a cleaner, more dynamic response with greater clarity and volume for louder signals, while Low Headroom(9V) giving you a grittier, compressed tone with more saturation and hamonic distortion, perfect for gritty overdrive or console type fuzz tones.
