OVERDRIVE, FUZZ, OCTAVE, MODULATIONS, NOISE & UNCONVENTIONAL GUITAR TONES

Entropy Pedal is an truly experimental combo-effect that combines overdrive, distortion, ocotodrive, fuzz, octofuzz; enhanced with a tunable oscillator, noise generator, and a modulator.

The unit is built both for radical noise experiments and for more restrained, musical applications. It allows for a seamless blend between both states, giving the musician full control over the transition from order to chaos.

The pedal combines and merges two states / two sides: Idle State and Chaotic State.

IDLE STATE

The pedal functions like a good discrete amplifier with the ability to transition into deep saturation. The range of tones here varies from compressed almost clean tones and smooth overdrive to powerful distortion and rich fuzz.

The core combines BJT and JFET stages. The JFET progressively enriches and amplifies the signal, mimicking tube compression and dynamics, while the BJT adds hard clipping and rich harmonic saturation.

At low gain, the sound is clean, slightly saturated, and compressed with transparent clarity. Increasing to LOW MID GAIN intensifies compression and clipping. HIGH MID GAIN introduces a fuzz character—delivering compressed tones and rich harmonics, yet retaining full dynamic control. Finally, HIGH GAIN delivers either a classic, velvety fuzz or an aggressive, mid-focused distortion-fuzz that cuts through any mix.

OCTAVE UP

Our custom self-adjusting system activates additional gain stages, modifies specific component parameters, and fine-tunes the gain level to ensure optimal performance for upper-octave tracking offering a wide sonic range from smooth clean octave to sharp, aggressive octofuzz tone with precise octave articulation and stable dynamics.

The pedal can produce an almost clean, slightly modulated octave-up, or deliver a dense, saturated analog octave tone that remains controlled. At extreme settings, it transforms into an aggressive octafuzz with a distinct “splitting” character.

CHAOTIC STATE

Unleashing aggressive sonic chaos, transforming the signal into a powerful octofuzz, FM modulator, bit crusher, drone, or a full-on wall of noise.
The BLEND control provides precise balancing between the clean Drive Section and the processed signal from the Noise Section.

A dedicated special modulator is introduced into the circuit, capable of generating new sounds, modulating them, and creating frequency modulation with the main signal.

Add controlled disorder into your signal chain with three operational modes toogle switch:
Drone Mode: Generates a steady tone at a base frequency, adjustable via the FQ (Frequency) control, allowing for both a stable background hum and resonant tonal surges when the frequency is manually shifted.
Noise Mode: Adds modulated white noise to the base frequency, forming dense and massive textured soundscapes that can be further twisted and warped using the same frequency control.
Frequency Modulation Mode: Processes the input signal through complex oscillator transformations, generating radical synthetic timbres that still depend on the set base frequency.

The ROUT toggle lets you choose where the processed noise signal is injected into the effect chain: the beginning (Pre), for full reprocessing through the drive circuit or at the end (Post), to overlay it on top of the already shaped tone.

With combination of Pre and Octave, along with any interaction with the chaotic mode, whether it’s a drone or FM modulation, will result in a bitcrusher-like effect or an intense modulation-type distortion with artifacts when processing complex signals.

UNCONVENTIONAL CONTROLS & EXPERIMENTS

The pedal features an input for an expression pedal, which controls the oscillator frequency. The minimum frequency is 0 Hz, corresponding to a complete absence of generation and any extraneous sounds. The maximum frequency is set by the FQ knob and can vary from very low values (3–5 Hz) up to approximately 1–1.2 kHz.

Responsiveness to playing dynamics and input signal level opening up vast sonic experimentation possibilities. In FM Mode (Frequency Modulation), the input amplitude becomes a full-fledged control element: the gradual strengthening of autonomous oscillations; non-linear frequency modulation distortions; chaotic timbre transformations; and more.

This approach turns a standard volume adjustment into a powerful sound-sculpting tool, where smooth sweeps of a volume pedal can generate complex transitions between a clean signal and radical synthetic textures.

The Entropy Pedal is based on our fully analog custom-designed circuit with deep chaos parameter tuning. It’s an original creation, not a replica or clone of any existing effects.

This is not just another unstable fuzz where distortion and oscillations are inseparably linked. It is thoughtful and stable circuitry: the IDLE STATE mode is completely separate from CHAOTIC STATE and possesses its own wide gain range and unique dynamics.

The result is a fuzz/fuzzy drive that delivers radical, experimental textures without sacrificing reliability or musicality. Each integrated section of the circuit operates stably and practically independently. Chaos remains on demand, never bleeding into or degrading the core signal.
